
MasterCard N>XT Developer Challenge
THE ASK
For the first time ever, MasterCard Canada was hosting a hackathon at MaRS where developers from all over the country could compete to create the best mobile payment innovation and win a 10,000 prize for their team.
THE CHALLENGE
Our challenge was to brand this event, create a landing page where they could sign up their team as well as create interesting event signage and event swag that would speak directly to this niche audience.
THE IDEA
Using developer syntax we developed a brand that MasterCard loved: N>XT. It speaks to the ultimate goal of the competition and has a deeper understanding of our audience. We also created a clever way to sign up for the event since it was for great coders only, they didn’t want just anyone signing up. By displaying an intentional broken link, the coders would have to go into the source code to see if they could fix the problem. Only then they would discover the secret code to enter the contest.
